What is your body confessing to you?

When I was in high school I thought I was the picture of health. However, looking back I realize I was not. My body talk (the way your body communicates to you) was telling me I had some issues to resolve. Dry skin, bloating, joint pain, and acne to name a few. But back then, I was a pro at ignoring my body talk. I saw my body talk as a nuisance, getting in the way of living my best life. But what happened was the more I ignored it the louder my body talk got. Little did I know I could have used my body talk as a guide to empower me through life. I have learned from my mistakes!

Body Talk

Your body communicates to you though signs and symptoms.

Common ones are:

  • Fatigue
  • Weight Gain/Loss
  • Acne
  • Dry Skin
  • Bloating
  • Cravings
  • Depression
  • Headaches
  • Mood Swings
  • PMS
  • Hot Flashes
  • Night Sweats
  • Foggy Headed
  • Low Libido

When you feed your body right and take care of it your body talk looks like:

  • Energy
  • Vitality
  • Mental Clarity
  • Peace
  • Clear Skin
  • Happiness
  • Youthful complexion
  • Strong Bones
  • Mobile Joints
  • Strong Nails
  • Shiny Hair
  • Stabilized Weight
  • Daily Bowel Movements
  • Stable Blood Sugar
  • Optimal Blood Pressure
  • High Libido

Each sign and symptom you have MEANS something.

It can indicate a certain organ is not functioning as it should, your lacking a certain nutrient, certain lifestyle habits need to change or all of the above.

Even if you don’t know what these symptoms mean, it is still important to be aware of your body talk. Get in tune with your body by taking a minute or two to stop and reflect how your body is doing.

Ask yourself:

  • What is my body confessing to me?
  • Am I experiencing any digestive issues?
    • Acid reflux
    • Bloating
    • Gas
    • Diarrhea
    • Constipation
    • Excessively full
  • Am I experiencing any blood sugar issues?
    • Sugar cravings
    • Fatigue
    • Light headed
    • Hangry
    • Shaky
    • Sleepy after meals
  • How is my mood?
    • Irritable
    • Depressed
    • Stable
    • Anxious
    • Stressed

Try to do this upon waking, before and after each meal, and before bedtime. It’s best to write down what you experience so you can see if a pattern develops.

Once you have gathered your body talk signs and symptoms think/look back to when these symptoms occurred. Was it after you ate a certain food? Did you go too long without eating? Was it stressed induced?

Being your own detective and linking your habits, body talk, and diet together will help you shed light on what changes need to be made to your health.

Knowing what these signs and symptoms mean can be tricky. Working with a qualified practitioner can help you understand what your body is saying and what you need to do to shift your body talk in a positive direction.

Sometimes you don’t even need to know exactly what your body talk means. Just recognizing that your body talk is unfavorable means you need to change your diet. If you know your diet isn’t the best and want to take control of your health narrative I highly recommend taking the foundations of healthy eating online course.

You have more control over your health then you may think. Your body should empower you through life. If you feel held back by your body, get acquainted with it. Listen to your body talk, take action, and you will feel unstoppable!
